Team Toothpick Racing OUTBOARDS!!
:: Team Toothpick Racing Outboard Racing
When Kyle Bahl offered me the opportunity to race outboards, I jumped at the chance.  What
was I thinking?!!  Driving a                                      course in a boat so close to the water
you feel as though you're riding                               on a piece of plywood with a motor on
the back, no strap-in, no lid, no                               clock in the cockpit, and the overlap rule?
What's that?

All I have to say is WOOHOO - what took Kyle so long to ask me?!!

Talk about deck-to-deck racing - there's nothing like looking over your shoulder to see who's
coming up behind you, gathering speed by kneeling and tucking so low you can barely see
past your helmet, and driving so close you could literally reach out and touch someone!  A
spin-out in Mossyrock taught me that I had better be in good shape, and the rough water at
Cullaby reminded me that I'd better be mentally prepared for anything.  Outboarding is
certainly a new racing experience for me, and one that I believe will make me a better inboard
racer.  I have a huge amount of respect for the guys and gals that take these boats and
themselves to their limits!

A big Thank You to Kyle Bahl and Gleason Racing for continuing to offer me the opportunity to
race in this unique sport!  You will definitely continue to see me in the Driver's Seat!
Team Toothpick welcomes our first ever outboard racer
                                Wesley Hyde!

Wesley began racing J-Stocks this year and has already made an impressive
impact in the
Columbia Outboard Racing Association with his solid starts and
consistent finishes.  The Hyde family, together with proud grandparents Terry
and Donna Wyrick, are supporting not only Wesley's racing aspirations, but his
triplet brothers Darin's and Bradley's too.  We can expect to see them all either
on the course or in the pits, supporting each other and fellow drivers as our
youngest Team Toothpick team members.

These are Three Racers to watch for!
Thanks to everyone with CORA for your help and support as we begin our
                               Outboard Racing Experience!
